1. Download the software. Choose "Open" at the dialog box if you want to install it immediately.
2. Install the Software Step through the Installation Wizard, the default settings are fine.
3. Launch Psi. Click on the "Profiles" button to begin connecting.
4. Create a new profile. Call the profile "Astatic" and enable emoticons, if you desire. then click "Create"
5. Open your new profile.
6. Create yourself a new account. Fill in your name and check off "Register new account" if this is the first time you are installing Psi. If you are adding your account to another PC, do not check the box.
7. Fill in the host "im.astatic.net", choose a username and password. Click "Register" to create your account
8. Woo-Hoo!
9. Adjust some preferences and save your account.
10. Connect! You will receive a welcome message from the server.
11. All of this is optional. Hit "Publish" when you are done.
12. Add a contact:
13. Fill in the Jabber ID of the person you wish to add to your contact list. The ID is in a format similar to an email address, but it is NOT one. All people on our im will have Jabber IDs that end in "@im.astatic.net". Feel free to add me to your contact list.
